Winter is the perfect time to snuggle up with the special someone in your life and have a fun date. It doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day to be romantic and fun together. Are you a supporter of Valentine’s Day, or do you think it’s the lamest holiday ever? Either way, it’s a great excuse to do some fun and budget-friendly activities with your honey.

Have an indoor picnic. Your picnic menu doesn’t have to be extensive. Go to the grocery store for some tasty cheeses, hard salami, crackers, and sparkling cider. Keep it light. Don’t forget the chocolate covered strawberries!
Build a fire in your fire pit, roast marshmallows, and enjoy some hot cocoa.
Have a movie marathon. (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit Trilogy)
Grill a couple steaks, throw a Caesar salad together, and bake some potatoes for an at-home steak dinner.
Have a game night. Pull out several games (Battleship, Jenga, Yahtzee, etc.) and have fun with some healthy competition. 😉 Have a gaming console? Hook it up and relive your childhood by competing against each other in Mario Cart. ha!
Share your favorite memories of the last year together in a creative way. (slide show, music playlist, scrapbook, smashbook, etc.)
Each pick out your favorite picture of each other from the last year and have it framed.
Go to the store in search of one item that will make the other laugh until they cry (or close to it).
Pick out outfits for each other out of your closets then go out in them.
Choose a book for your sweetie to read at the local library. While you’re at it, check out all of the great resources that are available at your local library. Some libraries even have camping supplies available to check out!
Plan a half day for each other. Each person plans a half day with activities and food. You are choosing activities and food that you think the other person would love and may not choose on their own. Get creative and have fun!
Bundle up and walk around your downtown area or a local park.
Go search for the BEST desserts in your hometown. Compete to see who chose the tastiest dessert.
Run a hot bubble bath and have a relaxing spa night.
String up some twinkly lights, bundle up, and eat outside under the stars. If you have a deck then enjoy your meal on the deck. If not, throw some blankets on the tail gate.
Go to various restaurants getting your “favorites” to-go. Have a variety of your favorite foods and enjoy them at home, at a park, or anywhere that is meaningful to you and your sweetie.
Find a cute coffee shop. Order some yummy beverages and dream about what you want to accomplish in the next few years. It’s fun to dream together and support each other.
